Eckington won their first Mansfield Sunday League Premier Division match of the season. The away side batted first and lost their first wicket with the score on 113 with Hunt (57) and Steers (56) batting well. Blidworth batting first recorded a score of 228 for 5 off their 40 over’s with R Mayers (41), C Dove (42), David Willcock (67) and Daniel Willcock (38 no) the main contributors. Wayne Dye bowled 7 over’s 1 for 5, Richard Mason took 1 for 58, Adam Leonard 1 for 40 and Ian O’Neill 1 for 26. In reply O’Neill who was looking for his third consecutive century on Sundays was ran out for 94 as Eckington chased down the runs. Clive Stevens (13), Luke Dawson (37), Karl Fields (18) and Mark Bridgman (24) did their best to reach the target but needing 9 runs off the final over Eckington lost their last 4 wickets for 1 run and were all out for 221

Eckington secured their second victory of the season in the Mansfield Sunday league game away at Coal Aston. Eckington again had Ian O’Neill to thank as only 3 players reached double figures. After an early wicket O’Neill (80 no) and Steve Nicholas (40) put on a stand of 103 and when Nicholas was out Luke Dawson (34) joined O’Neill and they moved the score to 159. Eckington then lost their last seven wickets for 29 as they finished on 188. For the home side J Cooper took 6 for 27. Coal Aston were in trouble early as Tom Dawson took a wicket with his first ball. N Simpson (26) and B Pickford (77) took the score to 82. S Mintoff (16), J Cooper (17) and R Mintoff (19) looked to have set up victory for the home side but the introduction of spinners O’Neill and Wayne Dye changed the game and Coal Aston were bowled out for 173. For Eckington Adam Leonard took 2 for 35, Dye 2 for 33 and O’Neill finished off another excellent weekend with figure of 5 for 26.
Eckington 68 lost to Underwood 71 for 6
Eckington lost their Mansfield League game on an extremely poor wicket at Underwood. Batting first Eckington only had 2 players who reached double figure Ian O’Neill (21) and Tom Dawson (20) as they found batting very hard. Eckington had reached 28 before they lost the first wicket but only managed to record a poor score of 68 all out. In reply the home side found batting just as hard and at one stage they were 55 for 6 with one batsman retired hurt. Eckington failed to take anymore wickets as Underwood claimed the victory. Ian O’Neill took 3 for 11 and Adam Leonard 2 for 14.

Eckington lost their Mansfield Sunday League game against Kirkby by 5 wickets. I O’Neill (40) and Tom Dawson (43) were the main contributors to the score with youngsters Adam Leonard (11), Sam Saxton (12no) and Richard Mason (15no) chipping in some much needed runs at the end of the innings. Brett Jones took 5 wickets for the visitors. In reply Kirkby secured victory with 2 over’s to spare with J Ellis scoring 78. T Dawson took 3 for 40 and I O’Neill 2 for 49 for Eckington.
